Your Network of Opportunity

As a country, we all need to do what we can to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

On 26th March the Government, stepped up measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus and save lives. The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020 introduced the requirement for certain businesses to close. Closure of the businesses lasts until a further direction is given by the Welsh Ministers allowing them to re-open.

All non-essential premises must now close. Takeaway and delivery services may remain open and operational. Online retail is still open and encouraged. Postal and delivery service will continue to run.

The Regulations are clear and any business that is required to close are not permitted to operate click and collect style services which result in members of the public entering their premises. Premise includes the curtilage of a building and so will include, for example, associated car parks.

The above Regulations have since been amended and new restrictions have been introduced.

A full list of the businesses that are required to remain closed and other relevant guidance relating to the closure and restriction requirements can be found in relevant links.

Those businesses and workplaces that are permitted to remain open are subject to strict social distancing requirements.

Businesses and premises that breach the Regulations will be subject to fixed penalty notices incurring immediate financial penalties, prohibition notices forcing them to closeand potentially unlimited fines.
