Your Network of Opportunity

Transport for Wales (TfW) is a not for profit company, wholly owned by the Welsh Government and exists to drive forward the Welsh Government’s vision of a high quality, safe, integrated, affordable and accessible transport network that the people of Wales are proud of.

TfW is key to delivering the Welsh Government’s key themes as set out in Prosperity for All: The National Strategy and the goals of the Well-being of Future Generations Act; as part of our commitment, TfW seeks to engage with as many small local suppliers as possible throughout the supply chain.

In conjunction with Business Wales and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, Transport for Wales held a supply chain awareness session for businesses. The session will took place in the General Offices in Ebbw Vale on Thursday 21st February.

As part of the Transport for Wales project they will require companies from a variety of sectors, including construction, engineering, food and drink, facilities management, accommodation, grounds maintenance, transport etc. The event explained how businesses could be a part of this exciting project.

A presentation discussing tendering support offered by Business Wales also formed part of the morning, this support includes how to plan and tender for public and private sector contracts, how to get your business ‘Tender Ready’, guidance on e-procurement etc.

There was also a brief overview of what Business Wales offers including providing impartial specialist support, advice and guidance to businesses looking to grow.

Over 40 businesses attended the briefing, taking the opportunity to network with each other and received one to one advice from representatives of the Council's Economic Development and Procurement teams, Transport for Wales, Business Wales and Welsh Government.
