Transport for Wales - Meet the Buyer

Transport for Wales - Meet the Buyer

Cost: Free

Transport for Wales (TfW) is transforming transport. For people, for places, for Wales.

At our Meet the Buyer events, we’ll be presenting our exciting plans to ‘Keep Wales Moving’ and to engage SMEs in the journey.

The presentations will include:

  • Introduction to Transport for Wales Rail Services and our plans to transform the rail network in Wales and its borders
  • Overview of the support Business Wales offers to small businesses
  • Talks from Construction Futures Wales, Business Wales and Sell2Wales

There will be small group sessions available with TfW, Sell2Wales, Social Business Wales, Construction Futures Wales, Supplier Champion and Business Wales to discuss details of packages on offer and learn how your business can prepare to bid.

You’ll get a taster of the free tendering support offered by Business Wales, which includes how to plan and tender for public and private sector contracts, how to get your business ‘Tender Ready’ and guidance on e-procurement.

What contracts are available?

As part of our commitment to the people and communities of Wales, we’re encouraging as many Welsh SMEs as possible to apply for contracts that will improve our railways (SMEs – fewer than 250 employees).

Over our 15-year contract, we’re investing £194 million on station improvements. This will be divided to work packages suitable for SMEs.

An additional £50 million of packages are available per annum for:

  • Train Spares
  • Lease or purchase of road vehicles
