Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training for Blaenau Gwent Employers

Through Trailblazer funding we are pleased to offer Blaenau Gwent employers the opportunity to access fully funded Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training with Mind in Gwent.

This accredited two-day course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise the signs of poor mental health, have supportive conversations, and signpost individuals towards appropriate professional support. The course also covers how to respond safely and appropriately when someone may be experiencing a mental health crisis, while promoting wellbeing and self-care.

What You'll Learn
Participants will gain practical skills and knowledge to:
• Understand mental health and wellbeing in Wales
• Recognise signs of depression, anxiety and psychosis
• Respond appropriately to a mental health crisis, including panic attacks and suicidal thoughts
• Have supportive conversations about mental health
• Challenge stigma and promote positive mental wellbeing
• Signpost individuals to appropriate support services
• Look after their own mental health and wellbeing
