The event combined a local creative showcase with an informal networking evening, giving visitors the opportunity to discover original artwork and handmade creations while meeting some of the people behind them.
One of the centrepieces of the evening was the official unveiling of a collection of permanent wall art created especially for Black Crow Therapies.
The featured artists were Von Boom Industries, Till Death Us Do Art, Neon Noir and Beyond The Brush, each bringing their own distinctive visual style to the project and helping transform the walls of the therapy studio into a permanent showcase of local artwork.
Alongside the wall-art unveiling, the event featured local makers and businesses including Katie’s Bakes, Black Crow Therapies, Corals Crochet Club and Nature Makers Newport Wales, adding an even broader mix of handmade work and independent creativity to the evening.
For me, exhibiting as Von Boom, it was a particularly enjoyable opportunity to show my work in a different environment and to be part of something that brought several strands of the local creative community together.
What made the evening especially worthwhile was that it wasn’t only about displaying finished work. Artists, makers, businesses and visitors were able to talk, exchange ideas and make new connections in a relaxed setting.
That was really the spirit behind the event: showing some of the creativity already happening locally and creating opportunities for those people to find one another.
A huge thank you goes to Mikaela and Black Crow Therapies for opening the space to local creatives and putting the event together, to everyone who exhibited or brought their work along, and to everybody who came through the doors and supported the evening.
The artwork created for the showcase remains on permanent display at Black Crow Therapies in Ebbw Vale, leaving a lasting reminder of a brilliant evening of local creativity and collaboration.
